Heading South…

The JDB will be heading south again this week on Thursday! First stop, Springfield, MO but not the Snorty Horse this time… We will be playing instead at Lindberg’s. Never been there before but it would nice to see the old Snorty Horse crowd out at our show. That means you too Steve, if you are in town thursday, that is. Thanks to Brian Edwards for featuring us on his radio show too! He played you some new recordings from our record Get Awesome! We’ll be playing the live versions of course so if you liked them come on out and say hello! Next, we will head down to OKC and playing at The Blue Note. Still working on filling that place up so if you have been there to see us before bring a few new friends please! Then, on Saturday we’ll be back at the Mercury Lounge in Tulsa and hopefully this time I won’t wake up in a Whataburger parking lot… See you at the party! -jd

Get Awesome September 30th Online…

Hello friends,
Come check us out if you are in the Twin Cities area this Thursday night. We’ll be playing at Lee’s Liquor Lounge in support of Ash Avenue! We’ve never been to this joint but I’ve heard its kind of a local legend as far as rock clubs go. Its been a while since we’ve been up to MN too so make sure you come out and pick up one of our new EP’s.
Also, our new full length album’s release date is officially September 30th online. So you can pick it up at authenticrecordsonline.com that day online only. Not sure about the itunes release. Its supposed to be on there right around the same time but we’ll see…. Just so you know, if you buy our new record at a show or order it online, as opposed to a digital version, you’ll be getting a couple extra tracks that we didn’t include on the digital version. Your choice, I guess. The new record really sounds great and we couldn’t be happier! Make sure you come celebrate with us the next time you can! ….like maybe Oct 3rd at People’s! We’ll have some new tee’s and stuff then too to help spice up your wardrobe a bit…. You know what GAP stands for, right…? -jd

GET AWESOME OCT 3RD!

Hey Friends,
I just wanted to tell you that we got back the master tracks for our new record “Get Awesome!” I am honestly really excited and couldn’t be happier with the way the record turned out. Big thanks to Jon, Tony, & Ross at the Sonic Factory and George at D.E.S. Mastering down in TX. Point is, I put 4 NEW SONGS on Myspace for your listening (hopefully…) enjoyment.

The release date is set for Oct 3rd. That’s still a long time but I just wanted to give you early notice. Plan to be at People’s that night and bring friends. Rodney Parker and The Fifty Peso Band will be opening up the show. Check them out! They wail.

On to more matters more present. This week we have a couple show options for you but only one is open to the public. That would be Saturday in Okoboji, IA at the Green Wave Music Festival. Hope you can make it. The summer is hotter than the devil so why not cool off in clean (supposedly) waters of Lake Okoboji. Iowa’s premiere resort town.

DES MOINES TATTOO CONVENTION… & Get Awesome!

…That’s where we’ll be this Saturday night at 9pm at The Embassy Suites in Des Moines. Radio Moscow will be opening the night up at 7pm. I’ve never got to see them live yet but I have heard nothing but good things about them. This will be the last time we are performing in Des Moines for quite awhile as we will be hitting the road again over the next couple months until we return on Oct 3rd for the release of our new full length album: Get Awesome. We had originally planned to release this record at the Tattoo Convention because my favorite tattooist Josh Bowers did the artwork for the cover of the album. Unfortunately, things weren’t getting done fastest enough for us to have the record ready for sale by this July 26th. Definitely come out to the show just the same. We have our summer EP Mix Tape for sale along with new T’s and our previous two records. Plus, the point of this show is to go check out the killer tattoo artists we have here in Des Moines. You may not have any yourself but you can at least appreciate the talent that these guys and gals have! I love tattoos clearly and would have more if it weren’t for the fact that I never have money. Make sure you go check out Joshua’s booth or stand or whatever it is when you get there. He’s rad. Maybe you’ll even decide to get one yourself… a little spit in the eye of your corporate slave master…
