Fun Stuff
Hey there,
Thanks to everyone who made it out to the shows last week! We had some great times for sure. This week should be pretty rad too. (by the way, spell check doesn’t know the word “rad”…. dumb.) Check our schedule for dates. i’m far too lazy to type them on this thing. I blame 4/20.
We are getting really close to wrapping up our third album if anyone is interested. I’m sure you’ve heard some of the songs at our shows. If you didn’t recognize them and thought that maybe I was selling out and playing a bunch of dumb covers like some acts feel are necessary… think again. I would NEVER be so shallow. They are our songs! The covers we do play are selected through an intensive process leaving only the most tasty treats. No top 40 bullshit. Sorry… my mind is just open to day. At least its open to being okay with being closed minded about cover selection. okay I’m done. -jd
oh yeah, check out the tuesday track… its the first song I ever recorded anywhere… pretty sappy and embarrassing…

Hey man. I’ve liked you guys for a while, and I’m a close friend of Willy J and was checking up on you, but dude, seriously- What is your deal with cover bands? I’ve seen you piss and moan about that before, but this is the worst yet. You say you don’t play ‘dumb covers’ like other bands, but you play ‘tasty treat’ covers selected through an ‘intensive process’?? What the shit is that? Tell me you’re joking and I just didn’t get it. Did you have Simon Cowell pick your songs for you or something? There’s a distinct possiblity that you’re a total music snob. For the record, there are cover bands in town with singers and musicians that could run circles around you. You sound awfully arrogant man. Keep in mind, shit on a stick looks (sounds) great next to shit wihtout a stick.

1. I am a music snob
2. We don’t play top 40 covers because I’d rather listen to the band that wrote the songs play them.
3. I am very careful with the covers we pick because I want them to be songs people know but also songs most bands don’t typically play. No scientific method involved.
4. You’re right there are more talented singers and musicians in town than me but that’s not my point. There are really talented singers that only sing karaoke… so what? What I don’t like are cocky bands that think they are hot stuff but they only play other people’s music. There’s no creativity to that and that is what music is all about. Making music isn’t about making money, cover bands are.
5. John Cougar Mellencamp isn’t alt country.
